The 16th Annual CADDAC ADHD conference is in the bag. 2 days of fun, connection and information – building community capacity, making new friends and, well, being all-in with ADHD!

I attend a ton of ADHD and neurodiversity events, and I’m lucky to be asked fairly frequently to contribute to the ADHD community by giving presentations, working with folks looking for support in their neurodiversity journey, and I always find some new nugget of wisdom, or spark of insight to add to my understanding and experience.

At this weekend’s conference, Dr. Ari Tuckman delivered some insightful observations that resonated with me:

To-Do lists can be the graveyards of hope – if you list things on your to-do list that you’ll never get done, rather than being an effective way to stay on top of what needs doing, it can become an overwhelming obstacle to moving forward and suck the momentum right out of you.

Sometimes good enough is good enough – this is one of my favourites. In striving for perfection, we can often unintentionally stall progress, and in some cases not complete anything at all. It’s about knowing when to push for perfection, and when to see the progress and call it a day.

There were many more insights from all of the speakers, and there’s no way I will do them justice in my notes, so my best advice for you is to attend the next CADDAC ADHD Conference (in B.C.) and check out CADDAC’s online programs, workshops and groups.

Thanks to all the great speakers, vendors and volunteers!
